Synagogue

The Neolog Synagogue was built between 1868 and 1870, becoming one of Győr's representative buildings. For a long time, it served as a model for the construction of synagogues in other cities, as a worthy prototype of synagogues that fit well into urban environments and have a large capacity for congregation. Today, it operates as a multicultural institution and serves as a permanent venue for the private collection of post-World War II Hungarian fine arts by János Vasilescu. The synagogue is currently operated by Széchenyi István University. Leveraging its excellent acoustics, it often hosts concerts, as well as widely attended music events.
